Selected Project
Culver Current
in Culver City
IVP Public Art assisted the City of Culver City with the public art process, artist selection, and commissioning of media artist Nate Mohler for a temporary civic artwork.
About the Project
Culver Current is a digital sculpture that links several ideas of movement: the current moment, the city’s forward-looking cultural identity, water currents in the former fountain setting, and electric current.
The work uses a nine-foot cylindrical steel frame, hundreds of LED panels, a custom Corian shell, and internal projection. Instead of using water, the installation translates digital activity within Culver City into a luminous fountain-like presence.
